प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर
हास्यबोध म्हणजे नागपूरच्या दैनिक देशोन्नती मध्ये विसेक वर्षांपूर्वी रविवार पुरवणीत प्रकाशित झालेल्या याच नावाच्या लेख मालिकेत माझे मित्र प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांनी वर्षभर सातत्याने लिहिलेल्या लेखांचा संग्रह. त्यावेळी मी देशोन्नतीचा पुरवणी संपादक होतो. आचार्य प्र. के. अत्रे यांच्या झेंडूची फुले, या विडंबन कवितासंग्रहाची परंपरा सक्षमतेने सांभाळणारा प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांचा एप्रिल फुले, हा विडंबन कवितांचा संग्रह १९८३ मध्ये प्रकाशित झाला होता. त्याची प्रस्तावना सुध्दा मीच लिहिली होती.
त्याचाच धागा धरून मी कवी मित्र सुरेश खेडकर यांनी एखादे विनोदी सदर देशोन्नतीसाठी लिहावे, असा आग्रह धरला. वाचकांना हास्यांकित करून त्यांचे मनोरंजन करणारा विनोदी किस्से व त्यातूनच सध्याच्या आधुनिक परिस्थितीत “शहाणे करूनी सोडावे सकल जन” याप्रमाणे सहजतेने शहाणपणाचा डोस देणारा बोध यांचा संगम घडविणाऱ्या हास्यबोध या मालिकेचा जन्म झाला. हास्यबोधची लोकप्रियता दिवसेंदिवस वाढत गेली. अल्पशिक्षित उच्चशिक्षित, विद्यार्थी, शिक्षक, वार्ताहर, पोलीस कॉन्स्टेबल, वकील, व्यापारी, ऑटोचालक इत्यादी विविध व्यवसायातील वाचकांचा उदंड प्रतिसाद या सदाला त्यावेळी मिळाला. तसाच चांगला प्रतिसाद या पुस्तकालाही मिळेल, याची मला खात्री आहे. शाळा कॉलेजातील विद्यार्थी व विभिन्न स्तरांचे कर्मचारी यांच्या ट्रेनिंग प्रोग्राम मध्ये हास्यबोध नक्कीच उपयुक्त ठरेल.
प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांचे विषयांतर हे आणखी एक पुस्तक हास्यबोध सह प्रकाशित होत आहे. त्याबद्दलही त्यांचे हार्दिक अभिनंदन.
महेश लातूरकर हे रहस्यकथा लेखक आणि इतिहास अभ्यासक असून प्रस्तुत पुस्तक हे त्यांचे दुसरे पुस्तक आहे.
त्यांनी लिहिलेल्या “शापित सौंदर्य” या गाजलेल्या रहस्यमय भय कादंबरीच्या दोन आवृत्ती प्रकाशित झाल्या आहेत. याच पुस्तकाकरिता त्यांना “भारतीय समाज विकास अकादमी” चा सन 2012 वर्षाचा उत्कृष्ट लेखक या पुरस्काराने सन्मानीत करण्यात आले आहे.
त्यांचे शिक्षण एम. कॉम ( फायनान्स ) आणि पीजी. डी. एफ. एम ( मुंबई विद्यापीठ ) असे झालेले आहे. तसेच यांना ज्योतिषाची आवड असून त्यांनी संशोधनात्मक “ज्योतिष आचार्य” आणि “अंकशास्त्रज्ञ” या पदव्या प्राप्त केलेल्या आहेत, या विषयांमध्ये ते पारंगत आहेत.
सध्या ते मागील काही वर्षापासून “छत्रपती संभाजी महाराज” यांच्या पूर्ण जीवनावर आधारित ऐतिहासिक कादंबरी लिहित आहेत.
लेखनासोबतच ते मराठी भाषा, मराठी शाळा आणि इतिहास संवर्धन, जतन संबंधित विविध संघटनांशी आणि चळवळीशी प्रत्यक्ष सहभागी असून कार्यरत आहेत.
विषयांतर, हे पुस्तक म्हणजे नागपूरच्या दैनिक तरुण भारत मध्ये ३०-३२ वर्षांपूर्वी दीर्घकाळ प्रकाशित झालेल्या विषयांतर, या सदरातील प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांच्या २७ लेखांचा संग्रह. मूळ जुन्या लेखातील विचार अधिक स्पष्ट करण्यासाठी प्रत्येक लेखाच्या शेवटी त्यांनी, त्यातील विषयांशी सुसंगत ताजा कलम नव्याने लिहून जोडला आहे. यातील बहुसंख्य लेखात त्यांनी आपले अनुभव हलक्या फुलक्या विनोदी शैलीत मांडलेले आहेत. प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर एक उत्तम विडंबन कवी सुद्धा आहेत. १९८३ साली प्रकाशित झालेल्या त्यांच्या एप्रिल फुले या विडंबन काव्य संग्रहात पद्य स्वरूपात व्यक्त झालेली त्यांची शैली, गद्य स्वरूपात विषयांतर मध्ये दिसून येते.

ते मुळात विद्युत अभियांत्रिकी (Electrical Engineering) चे प्राध्यापक असले तरी त्यांचे मराठी साहित्यातील योगदान प्रशंसनीय आहे. प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांच्याजवळ अनुभवांचा आणखी पुष्कळ साठा आहे व तो सुद्धा त्यांच्या आगामी पुस्तकांच्या रूपात लवकरात लवकर यावा, अशी शुभेच्छा मी व्यक्त करतो.
