हास्यबोध म्हणजे नागपूरच्या दैनिक देशोन्नती मध्ये विसेक वर्षांपूर्वी रविवार पुरवणीत प्रकाशित झालेल्या याच नावाच्या लेख मालिकेत माझे मित्र प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांनी वर्षभर सातत्याने लिहिलेल्या लेखांचा संग्रह. त्यावेळी मी देशोन्नतीचा पुरवणी संपादक होतो. आचार्य प्र. के. अत्रे यांच्या झेंडूची फुले, या विडंबन कवितासंग्रहाची परंपरा सक्षमतेने सांभाळणारा प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांचा एप्रिल फुले, हा विडंबन कवितांचा संग्रह १९८३ मध्ये प्रकाशित झाला होता. त्याची प्रस्तावना सुध्दा मीच लिहिली होती.
त्याचाच धागा धरून मी कवी मित्र सुरेश खेडकर यांनी एखादे विनोदी सदर देशोन्नतीसाठी लिहावे, असा आग्रह धरला. वाचकांना हास्यांकित करून त्यांचे मनोरंजन करणारा विनोदी किस्से व त्यातूनच सध्याच्या आधुनिक परिस्थितीत “शहाणे करूनी सोडावे सकल जन” याप्रमाणे सहजतेने शहाणपणाचा डोस देणारा बोध यांचा संगम घडविणाऱ्या हास्यबोध या मालिकेचा जन्म झाला. हास्यबोधची लोकप्रियता दिवसेंदिवस वाढत गेली. अल्पशिक्षित उच्चशिक्षित, विद्यार्थी, शिक्षक, वार्ताहर, पोलीस कॉन्स्टेबल, वकील, व्यापारी, ऑटोचालक इत्यादी विविध व्यवसायातील वाचकांचा उदंड प्रतिसाद या सदाला त्यावेळी मिळाला. तसाच चांगला प्रतिसाद या पुस्तकालाही मिळेल, याची मला खात्री आहे. शाळा कॉलेजातील विद्यार्थी व विभिन्न स्तरांचे कर्मचारी यांच्या ट्रेनिंग प्रोग्राम मध्ये हास्यबोध नक्कीच उपयुक्त ठरेल.

The most ancient, courteous, cultured and advanced religion in the world is Hindu religion. Unfortunately due to social, political changes, there developed deep misunderstand and ignorance about it. Many questions were raised on different aspects of it, at different times by many people. Here the efforts are made to answer them. What does our Hindu religion and its theology says about the questions to be faced in particular condition and in particular time? We have curiosity about it but the answers are not available instantly. For such people this book provides the guidelines.
There is ample literature writer by larned and great thinkers in India. In this book, we get a complied account about it.
Whenever there was extinction of religion and where ever there was propagation of unlawful, nonreligion, God the Supreme got incarnated to reestablish the order and peace. Thereby the virtuans and righteas people can live without harm and the circle of the universe is maintained uninterrupted. There are ten incarnations of the God supreme, the Vishnu. Vidur is a balanced and pious Character in the epic of Mahabharat. He was honoured as the only gentleman in the wicked kawarvas by Lord Krishna who stayed at his home while playing deplomatic tactics in Udyogparva (a chapter of Mahabharat) Krishna had gone there to avoid was as a messenger of Pandwas to avoid the war. The 33-40 chapters of the (udyogaparva) are about the advice, Vidura gave to Dhrutarashtra the father of Kaurawas for maintainance of peace, law and order in the society. This Mahabharatian advice is valuable because it includes all pervading cosmic order to be followed by all governmental heads all times. Vidur neeti is a precious peace of Indian political thought translated in Marathi.
