शिक्षणाची वाटचाल हे पुस्तक विद्यार्थी व पालकांसाठी प्रेरणादायी आहे. सौ. अर्चना घोरमाडे या जिल्हा परिषद शाळेत शिक्षिका असून त्यांचे पती श्री सुरेंद्र घोरमाडे सेवानिवृत्त शिक्षक आहेत. त्यांचे मूळ गाव नागपूर (ग्रामीण) तहसील येथील चिचोली (फेटरी) आहे. ग्रामीण भागातील अनेक विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी त्यांनी शैक्षणिक कार्य केले. गरीब कुटुंबात जन्मलेल्या पती-पत्नीने अनेक संकटांना तोंड देऊन यशस्वीपणे रिषभ व क्षितिज या दोन मुलांचे संगोपन केले. अत्यंत कठीण प्रसंगात देखील शिक्षणास प्राधान्य देत विविध अनुभवांद्वारे नीती मूल्यांचे संस्कार करून त्यांना सुजाण नागरिक केले. सौ.अर्चना यांच्या धाडसाची आणि कष्टाची ही कथा मातृत्वाच्या आणि पालकत्वाच्या कर्तव्याला तसेच नैतिक मूल्यांच्या अस्तित्वाला अधोरेखित करते. पवित्र विचारांनी सुंदर झालेल्या या पुस्तकास लेखिका सौ. अर्चना सुरेंद्र घोरमाडे यांनी शब्दबद्ध केले आहे.

हास्यबोध म्हणजे नागपूरच्या दैनिक देशोन्नती मध्ये विसेक वर्षांपूर्वी रविवार पुरवणीत प्रकाशित झालेल्या याच नावाच्या लेख मालिकेत माझे मित्र प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांनी वर्षभर सातत्याने लिहिलेल्या लेखांचा संग्रह. त्यावेळी मी देशोन्नतीचा पुरवणी संपादक होतो. आचार्य प्र. के. अत्रे यांच्या झेंडूची फुले, या विडंबन कवितासंग्रहाची परंपरा सक्षमतेने सांभाळणारा प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांचा एप्रिल फुले, हा विडंबन कवितांचा संग्रह १९८३ मध्ये प्रकाशित झाला होता. त्याची प्रस्तावना सुध्दा मीच लिहिली होती.
त्याचाच धागा धरून मी कवी मित्र सुरेश खेडकर यांनी एखादे विनोदी सदर देशोन्नतीसाठी लिहावे, असा आग्रह धरला. वाचकांना हास्यांकित करून त्यांचे मनोरंजन करणारा विनोदी किस्से व त्यातूनच सध्याच्या आधुनिक परिस्थितीत “शहाणे करूनी सोडावे सकल जन” याप्रमाणे सहजतेने शहाणपणाचा डोस देणारा बोध यांचा संगम घडविणाऱ्या हास्यबोध या मालिकेचा जन्म झाला. हास्यबोधची लोकप्रियता दिवसेंदिवस वाढत गेली. अल्पशिक्षित उच्चशिक्षित, विद्यार्थी, शिक्षक, वार्ताहर, पोलीस कॉन्स्टेबल, वकील, व्यापारी, ऑटोचालक इत्यादी विविध व्यवसायातील वाचकांचा उदंड प्रतिसाद या सदाला त्यावेळी मिळाला. तसाच चांगला प्रतिसाद या पुस्तकालाही मिळेल, याची मला खात्री आहे. शाळा कॉलेजातील विद्यार्थी व विभिन्न स्तरांचे कर्मचारी यांच्या ट्रेनिंग प्रोग्राम मध्ये हास्यबोध नक्कीच उपयुक्त ठरेल.
प्रा. सुरेश खेडकर यांचे विषयांतर हे आणखी एक पुस्तक हास्यबोध सह प्रकाशित होत आहे. त्याबद्दलही त्यांचे हार्दिक अभिनंदन.
“जागतिक वारसा स्थळांचा इतिहास महाराष्ट्राच्या विशेष संदर्भासह” या पुस्तकात केवळ माहिती ची जंत्री नाही, तर यात सामाजिक इतिहासाच्या अनुषंगाने, पर्यटन भूगोलाचा विचार करून, सामान्य मध्यवर्गीयाच्या खिशाच्या अर्थशास्त्राच्या दृष्टीने व पर्यटन करणाऱ्याच्या मानसिकतेचा- मानसशास्त्राचा वेध घेण्याचा प्रयत्न करणारे हे 100-125 पानांचे छोटेखानी पुस्तक आहे. या सामाजिकशास्त्रांचा विचार करताना जागतिक वारसा का ? कसा ? कशा रितीने ? जपला पाहिजे. या प्रश्नांचा उत्तरांचा मागोवा घेण्याचा प्रामाणिक प्रयत्न या पुस्तकात केलेला आहे.

कहाणी जिद्दीची ही कादंबरी एका सालस तरुणीची कथा आहे. केवळ मुलगा चांगला आहे म्हणून आई वडिलांच्या आग्रह खातर ती विवाहाला तयार होते. शिक्षण पुढे सुरु ठेवता येईल हीच त्यातली जमेची बाजू. तसं ती विवाहानंतर हवं त्या क्षेत्रातील, आणि हवं तेव्हढं शिक्षण घेते देखील. पण नवऱ्याच्या लहरी स्वभावाने तिला काय काय भोगाव लागतं… जेव्हा तिच्या सहनशीलतेचा अंत होतो आणि तिच्या जीवावर बेततं तेव्हा मात्र घर सोडून बाहेर पडण्याशिवाय पर्याय नसतो. सगळं संपलेलं असताना फिनिक्स पक्षाप्रमाणे ती पुन्हा राखेतून उभी राहते. एकल पालकत्व निभावत पुढे जात राहते.उच्च विद्या विभूषित असलेल्या स्त्रीने प्रत्यक्षात अनुभवलेलं हे सारं … म्हणून तिच्या या जिद्दीची ही कहाणी .
